摘要
Ecological faunisitc studies of ground-beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) have been carried out at two model profiles-of the northern macroslope of the Giant Mountains (Karkonosze). Seventy seven species have been recorded or three fifths of the total number of species found in the Karkonosze National Park. The composition, structure of dominance, and ratio of size groups, have been analyzed in carabid communities of the main soil-plant associations. The carabid communities forming at the forest-subalpine meadow border were the richest in species due:tb the ecotone effect. Along the macroprofile, The dynamic density of ground beetles tended to decrease-with the altitude along the profile. It was the highest in the spruce stand and lowest in the subalpine meadow and scattered mountain pine. Three species, Trechus striatulus, Bembidion quadrimaculatum, and Pterostichus unctulatus, occur all over the profile in all types of:studied associations.
