摘要
Handwritten character recognition is widely used in the areas such as finance, postal service, medical care and transportation. An enhanced template matching algorithm based on the theory of image pattern recognition is proposed to meet the requirements of high recognition accuracy. Global geometric features are used to extract characteristic vectors, and a much smaller database is created. This algorithm effectively increases the correct recognition rate, accelerates the speed of recognition and renders good robustness for the size and location of the characters in the image. Based on the enhanced recognition algorithm, we created a data input system which recognizes handwritten characters of a hospital information table and automatically displays and stores the result.
