摘要：
The author of this article reconstructed the scientific biography of the Soviet historian of primitive society V. K. Nikolsky. The author used many new archival materials and published sources. The author came to the conclusion that V. K. Nikolsky didn't leave a great contribution to Soviet historical science. He used other people's materials and popularized other people's conclusions. But his scientific biography is interesting to researchers, because V. K. Nikolsky constantly changed his views and followed all the turns of Soviet ideology.
