摘要
The flexible manufacturing systems represent a new stage of progress in the production of goods. The classic system offered the consumer a range of products relatively limited from which he had to choose the product that fits best to his needs. Nowadays, the customer dictates what is going to be produced. The need of the market is to produce unique products according to the requirements of each different person. Shape, material, gauge, color or other characteristics are elements that make each product unique. To meet this new trend, manufacturing systems basically have to produce a variety of unique products, which according to classical theories, lead enterprises in economic disaster. Is there quality in scheduling the flexible manufacturing system? As we know, quality may be associated with products that meet consumer needs and have a long life. Quality generates costs that can be mitigated with an accurate and precise scheduling of the manufacturing system, so that it produces many different products, but still within optimum parameters. Quality of scheduling could mean unique production at low costs.
