摘要
In contrast to novel material science or recent developments in buildings energy efficiency and construction physics, the building site and in-situ construction processes lack of innovative progress in terms of new, highly automated production processes. While the prefabrication industry advanced its production methods, construction and assembly tasks are executed in the same manner as hundreds of years ago. The new chair for Individualized Production in Architecture at the RWTH Aachen University investigates the reasons for this current innovation and automation barrier. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary researcher team develops new technologies and production processes with the help of robotics and intuitive programming in order to enhance the building site of the future in terms of conservation of resources, building quality and safety.
