摘要
Particle damping technology has been widely researched in Structure engineering field, this technology has a lot of advantages, such as little modification of the original system, filling particles stability, etc.. But particle damping technology is still immature in the civil engineering and has less application in the actual project. The particle damping mechanism and influence factors of damping are still not conclusion. In this paper, we take a particle damper of single unit multi particles as research object, then the process of particle-bed collision is numerically investigated by the Discrete Element Method (DEM). Based on the Discrete Element Method (DEM), we analyze the impacting angle, velocity, filling rate and materials on the particle-bed collision. The results show that filling rate has effects on the energy in the collision process; the filling materials has no significant on the energy reduction rate in the particle-bed collision process. These research can provide a theoretical basis for the particle damper deign.
