Design of Compact C-Band Concave Patch Antenna for Radar Altimeter Applications

摘要
The existing studies give the information of using Horn antenna or array Antenna which are not compact in nature for the Radar Altimeter Applications. This paper presents the proposed compact C-band concave shape slotted Patch antenna of 32 X 38 mm with substrate material RT-Duroid 5880. Coaxial feeding has been applied to the antenna which gives the direct contact excitation. This paper achieved 4.3 GHz as the Central frequency with S11 of -22dB, VSWR of 1.1, a gain of the antenna as 10dB and enhancement of bandwidth 200MHz. Antenna design and Simulations were done in ANSYS HFSS 18.0v.
