The use of telecommunication towers is an important issue in the world. The objective of this study is to present simplified expressions to determine the dynamic parameters of the self-supporting telecommunication towers by adjusting values obtained from the statistical analysis of different types of towers. The simplified expressions were obtained focusing on the fundamental vibration period, modal shape and the generalised modal mass, which are commonly used in the Mexican wind design code and also in international wind design codes, and are based on typical geometries of the towers and accessories as built in Mexico. The proposed expressions improve the approximation of the fundamental period as compared with the expressions used in current norms.
