摘要
Coefficients of diffusion and permeability of oxygen in PVB/PEG10 000 blends with different compositions are determined. We investigate the distribution of free volume in the polymer blends to predict coefficients of diffusion and permeability for gas separation membranes. We determine the temperatures at which conformational transitions of low-weight molecules (probes) introduced into polymeric blends are frozen. We use the FTIR spectroscopic method of conformational probes to determine the effective sizes of mobile free volume elements (FVE) for the blends of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG10 000).
