Teaching Investigation and Research about Probability and Mathematical Statistics

Probability and mathematical statistics is a important course with stronger theory and wider application than other relative courses,but at present students are not good at this course. It is necessary to research present situation, analyze its causes and find out some solution. Basing on investigation about students and teaching practice for many years, we draw the following conclusions : Using the blackboard and multimedia combination can change present situation with no enough class time, question-based teaching can inspire and guide the students' thinking, classified and graded teaching can strengthen the students' personality development, and teaching directed by practical application can cultivate students' abilities of application and innovation. These methods can improve the quality of teaching and change present situation.
