摘要
This work shows the results of an educative technology project at the School of Engineering of UNAM to produce interactive models within the concept of a mathematics laboratory aimed at the undergraduate level for Analytical Geometry. The concept has been implemented using an immersive approach with the virtual world Second Life by an interdisciplinary team comprised by lecturers as well as content developers. In an introductory section, the requirements and needs for this project are presented. Then, an overview of the implementation process and the interaction with the domain experts from the coordination of mathematics at the School is introduced. Finally some remarks about the immediate results and future impact that can be drawn from this experiences, and its possible expansion into more areas of engineering education is discussed at the end of the work.
