摘要
The formation of hydrogen peroxide during oxygen bleaching of Eucalyptus globulus was studied, in an attempt to confirm the origin of cellulose degradation during this bleaching process, as well as the effect of metal ions on the degradation. Hydrogen peroxide was detected in the effluent of the oxygen treatment of both bleached and unbleached pulps. Hydrogen peroxide formation was higher in the case of the presence of lignin (unbleached pulp) or bleached pulp with addition of phenolic lignin model compound (vanillic alcohol). The metal ions present in the pulp influence the content of H2O2 detected in the effluents of oxygen treatments.
