Fabricated dental titanium-zirconium alloy by laser rapid forming

摘要
In order to increase the repairing level this research employed a kind of solid solution alloy powder of titanium and zirconium which no toxicity to body either, and used the technology of laser rapid forming to fabricate thin-wall parts of titanium-zirconium alloy (Ti-Zr alloy). In this paper some research on microstructure and macro parameter for the single layer and multi-layers laser cladding under different laser power and scan velocity was done, and the performance of thin-wall parts made by different process parameters was studied. On the basis of optimized process parameters, a test sample for mechanical property and corrosion resistance was prepared and some preliminary tests for the samples were made. The results show that in the condition of high laser power and lower scan velocity, the metal sample with good geometric shape and no stick powder can be got. The microstructure of this Ti-Zr alloy part is dense and acicular structure distributed uniformly in all field, which belongs to a typical rapid solidification structure. The tensile strength of the thin-wall Ti-Zr alloy part is nearly the same as that of cast part and the corrosive nature is slightly better than that of cast part. All the results prove that the dental titanium-zirconium alloy fabricated by laser rapid forming have excellent property and can be used for repairing.
