Fuzzy logic and fuzzy expert control systems are currently among the most active research and development areas of artificial intelligence. Thanks to tremendous technical advances and many industrial applications developed by the Japanese, fuzzy logic enjoys an unprecedented popularity. The object of this paper is to describe a number of hardware implementations of fuzzy control systems. The paper is organized In five sections: Section 1 provides a brief introduction to fuzzy control. Section 2 describes a real-time fuzzy control and tracker for a power system generation unit. Section 3 illustrates the experimental experiences for real-time fuzzy control of a model train on a circular path. A fuzzy PI controller for a thermoelectric cell used for non-chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) air conditioning and refrigeration systems is given in Section 4. Finally, Section 5 presents and discusses some conclusions.
