A preliminary study of east time-resolved luminescence in Al2O3:C

Fast time-resolved optically stimulated luminescence has been observed in alpha-Al2O3:C single crystals under near-IR stimulation. The time-resolved measurements were performed with a spectrometer system comprising a Quanta-Ray MOPO 710 laser as stimulation source and a detection system including a fast photomultiplier detector coupled to a multi-scalar with a minimum dwell time of 5 ns. Results of multi-exponential lifetime analysis of the time-resolved data are reported and comparisons made with other relevant data produced by slower pulsed optically stimulated luminescence and pulsed radioluminescence measurements.
