摘要
Titanium oxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (metal oxide semiconductor) are successfully synthesized using hydrothermal method for sensor application. Titanium dioxide and Sodium hydroxide are used as precursors. These reactants are mixed and calcinated at 400 degrees C to produce TiO2 nanoparticles. The crystalline structure, morphology of synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles are studied using x-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRD results revealed that the prepared TiO2 sample is highly crystalline, having Anatase crystal structure. FT-IR spectra peak at 475 cm(-1) indicated characteristic absorption bands of TiO2 nanoparticles. The XRD and FTIR result confirmed the formation of high purity of TiO2 nanoparticles. The SEM image shows that TiO2 nanoparticles prepared in this study are spherical in shape. Synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles are deposited on glass substrate at room temperature using E beam evaporation method to determine gauge factor and found to be 4.7. The deposited TiO2 thin films offer tremendous potential in the applications of electronic and magneto-electric devices.
