Subwavelength Optical Confinement and Long Propagation using Grating based Hybrid Plasmonic Waveguide with Ultra-high Nonlinearity

摘要
A grating based hybrid plasmonic waveguide with subwavelength optical confinement and larger propagation length is proposed. The grating assisted low-loss guiding of hybrid plasmonic-photonic mode is achieved with high nonlinearity of 18.7 x 10(7) km(-1)w(-1). An acceptably low propagation loss of 4 dB/mm and hence a large propagation length of 1027-mu m with modal area of 0.00017/mu m(2) are reported.
