摘要
To describe as scientific evidence about the use of the elderly person's health book (CSPI) in primary care to optimize care for the elderly. Materials and Methods: integrative review using the Medline, Scielo, Lilacs and CAPES journals databases through the descriptors: health book of the elderly; primary health care and the elderly, and their respective descriptors in English, published by May 2017. Results: The sample of this review consisted of 6 studies. The CSPI has been reported as an adjunct tool in care by health primary care teams, seniors and caregivers. However, the difficulties presented in understanding the contents and filling the CSPI were reported by the participants of the studies analyzed. The scarcity of studies evaluating CSPI in primary care as the main theme was an important finding of this study. Conclusion: Thus, it is necessary to expand the discussion about CSPI in primary care, to consider its possible benefits for the elderly population and for public health in general in different Brazilian regions. The permanent health education can be a way to turn the development of CSPI in primary care.
