On the Advantages of University Libraries in the Quality Education of University Students

Enhancing the quality education of university students is an important strategic move in Chinese higher education reform. As the literature information and resource center of universities, with its high-level librarians, university libraries should play a positive role in improving the quality education of university students. Based on the previous studies of scholars on the same topic, this paper, adopting the qualitative research method, explores university libraries' vital role in the quality education of university students from various perspectives, including resources advantages, librarians' demonstration and guidance, humanistic environment, retrieval courses, on-line education, training sessions and symposiums, and reading activities, etc. Because of those advantages illustrated here, this paper concludes that we should give the libraries a full play in improving the quality education of university students.
