Sustainable tourism development in Lagunas de Montebello National Park

The general objective was to determine the level of acceptable change in tourism activities for sustainable use within the Lagunas de Montebello National Park. (PNLM). The method was Limits of Acceptable Change (LCA) with multi-criteria analysis, key informant interviews and group workshops with local inhabitants. The results included a preference for tourism as a source of employment and local development, as well as acceptability to change in natural areas with tourist use. Public institutions will be able to design better policies and strategies linked to sustainable use.
