摘要
We have calculated the optical responses of a variety of nano size silver particles, i.e., a column, a hexahedron, an ellipse, and an ellipsoidal rod, by using the finite-difference time-domain method. For a pair of ellipsoidal rods, we have found a suitable distance for the gap between the rods for transferring the energy of longitudinal (L) and transverse (T)-mode plasmons. We have also investigated the suitable configuration of an ellipsoidal rod array with a bend for changing the plasmon propagation direction and the mode from the L-mode to the T-mode.
