摘要
Balloon angioplasty with or without stenting has become increasingly popular for the management of arterial occlusive disease. This article reviews the indications, techniques, and published results of these methods when applied to the iliac arteries. Particular attention is given to the rationale and evidence for primary stent placement as an adjunct to balloon angioplasty.
