We investigate the nuclear structure issues that determine the neutrino-nucleus cross sections of interest in nuclear, particle, and astrophysics. We discuss the uncertainties involved in calculating these cross sections, and the expected accuracy of model predictions. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
