The paper investigates the multicaloric effect (mu CE) in a two-layer composite made of a piezoelectric and a magnetostrictive film. The simultaneous application of electric and magnetic fields is considered by the model. As an example of the application of our theory we analyze mu CE in the FeRh-PZT structure. It occurs that the interaction of elastic stresses in the layers results in the appearance of a magnetoelectric effect, which may lead to increased caloric effects.
