摘要
Apple production is continuously under the pressure of the introduction of new varieties bred for fruit superior quality, resistance to biotic and non-biotic stress, high yield, good storage and shelf life, adapted to high density orchards. To obtain the perfect variety is the breeders' golden, but impossible dream. In order to recommend a good variety to be propagated and planted, it is necessary a detailed work of testing the new released varieties for all the agronomic and commercial aspects. The present paper presents the preliminary results regarding the study of over 30 of new released scab resistant apple genotypes. The testing plot was planted in Bucharest area on brown-reddish soil in 2009. Apple trees, grafted on M9 low vigor rootstock, were planted at 3.5 x 1.0 m and lead as vertical axe on a 2 wires trellis and bamboo canes. Every genotype was characterized following the descriptor list for "Level 1" EUROFRU trials for tree and fruit characteristics and for the pests and disease tolerance. For some of the varieties, the storage capacity was studied and consumer tests were done.
