摘要
September 30, 2008, brought to a close the most successful fiscal year in the history of Siemens VAI Metals Technologies - a year in which the business unit made excellent use of the dynamic development of the global economy and strong demand for iron and steel. Yet, for all this success, current global financial weakness will no doubt affect the metal business and Siemens VAI will need to introduce a number of initiatives to maintain and grow its business in the difficult economic times ahead. One of the most recent measures has been the expansion of the unit's portfolio through the acquisition of Morgan Construction Company. Others include the standardization of products, solutions and processes as well as a stronger commitment to energy-efficient and cleaner, environmental technologies.
