Simulation of intelligent fuzzy-based active suspension system

摘要
This paper presents simulation of intelligent fuzzy-based car active suspension system. Active suspension system employs a control strategy in order to decrease the vertical acceleration of car body by changing actuator forces. In this study, a non-liner fall car suspension model with seven degrees of freedom has been developed. Model nonlinearity provides the ability to simulate holding force and tire-road separation. Road inputs include different surface conditions; bump for rough conditions and random road irregularities specified by PSD for high way condition. The main objective of fuzzy controller design has been determined to minimize the car body acceleration while keeping the rattle space and holding force within their limitations. Ride comfort has been evaluated by RMS acceleration of bounce, pitch and roll motions, and rattle space and holding characteristic have been checked for four car wheels. Finally, results from simulation of fuzzy-based active suspension have been compared with passive suspension system in order to show the ability of the fuzzy controller.
