Target Number Recognition for Low-Resolution Radar Based on Hilbert-Huang Transform

摘要
An estimation algorithm of formation target number for low-resolution radar based on Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) was proposed in this article. The radar echo signals were processed by HHT to extract Hilbert spectrum at first and then to find the peaks by Hough transform and the number of peaks was the estimator of formation target number. In this paper, the improved methods were proposed to suppress the end effect of HHT and the noises. The simulation results showed that the proposed method not only has nicer noise immunity and multi-target resolution capability but also can recognize the number of targets in formation effectively in the moderate SNR.
