The Anthocoridae and Miridae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) on whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis)

摘要
Three species of Anthocoridae and 13 species of Miridae are reported from whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) in western North America. The three species of Tetraphleps (Anthocoridae) and species of the mirids Deraeocapsus, Phytocoris, and Pilophorus are predators on insects on the host. Two of the species of Tetraphleps are reported feeding on the introduced balsam woolly aphid. Species of Dichrooscytus, Pinophylus, and Playtylygus (Miridae) feed on the host tree. Species of Pinophylus and Platylygus feed on the developing male cones causing abortion.
