摘要
Cluster server is widely used in different types of system. However, different types of application require different types of resources from the cluster. The multimedia services heavily depends on the available communication bandwidth between server and clients. On the other hands, some scientific applications rely on the CPU computation power. If a cluster server can support both types applications, the resources utilization can be enhanced substantially. Unfortunately, when both types of applications compete the network bandwidth, the QoS of the multimedia services will be decreased since the data have temporal dependency feature. In this paper, we propose the cooperative scheduling between these two types of applications in cluster server system such that when the applications compete the bandwidth for communication, the influence of QoS of multimedia video services can be minimized.
