摘要
The increasing demand for advanced services in cellular networks such as data and video raises the problem of efficient bandwidth management in terms of channel availability. Many algorithms for supporting advanced services have been presented in the literature based mainly on bandwidth reservation and capacity management. In this paper, novel dynamic channel assignment strategies for supporting data (e.g. file transfer) and video (video viewing, video conference) with Quality of Service (QoS), and their evaluation through a prototype advanced statistical simulation environment for cellular communications are presented. Moreover, we analyze the dynamic and distributed channel allocation of data and video channels based on signal purity measures. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithms evaluated through a prototype simulation environment is discussed.
