摘要
All-optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) evokes a new regime in advanced optical communication at extreme data rates, as subcarriers are multiplexed and demultiplexed using trigonometric transforms. This paper shows that real trigonometric transforms can advantageously replace the Fourier Transform in optical communication systems, for all-optical signal processing. A low-complex, real trigonometric transform-based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing for Radio-over-Fiber system (RoF) is presented. The modulation/demodulation is performed by using the Fast Hartley Transform (FHT). The system is modeled and simulated using latest commercial software, Optisystem. This is an exquisite method that uses standard components of optical telecommunication. As a result this model can be used with different wireless communication systems such as high date rate Wireless LANs, Fiber-To-Home (FTTH), Wi-Max and the 4th generation cellular systems. It also find applications in inter connecting nano-photonic systems remotely over wireless systems.
