摘要
When a large number of devices access the network simultaneously, it is easily to cause the network congestion and the decline of successful access rate, which means that the current cellular architecture is not very suitable for M2M communications. In this paper, an Energy Group based Random Access Method for M2M Communications (EGRA) is proposed, in which the M2M terminals can be divided into groups according to the ratio of terminal energy consumption rate. Each group head applies for competitive resources on behalf of group, and the resources of random access will be competed and allocated among group members. Then the signal connections and the terminal energy consumption are reduced, and the utilization rate of random access resources is increased. The simulation results show that the EGRA has higher successful access rate and more ideal terminal access time.
