摘要:
Design of a dynamic WH/TS optical encoder along with a coupler for fiber to chip mode conversion is presented. The encoding device utilizes fast EO tuning of defect mode of an EO polymer infiltrated 1D Si photonic crystal resonator. The TM waveguide coupler providing mode size matching from 9 mu m to 240nm is designed using transformational optics with additional Si-air layers for antireflection. In this encoder, chip duration, wavelength selection and time gating functions can be programmed to provide adaptive 2D OCDMA encoding that ensures low power, low cost upgrade in capacity of standard 10Gbps systems in access networks to a minimum of 100Gbps.
