摘要
An increase in the rate of net migration has a significant impact on the labour market of receiving and source countries and many other economic impacts. Economic benefits of international migration are substantial because a free movement of labour leads to a redistribution of labour, which becomes more efficient and improves total welfare. From a demographic point of view, it is obvious that an immigration inflow increases total population, which is reflected in an increase in aggregate demand in the host country. Overall impacts of immigration can very broad and should be considered within wider economic and socio-cultural context. It depends not only on an economic situation in a country and current needs of the workforce, but also on a legal framework related to immigration or on cultural and personal characteristics of immigrants themselves, particularly their ability, willingness to work and live in the host country and to integrate into the mainstream society.
