摘要
The Kohlbrand-Bridge is the most important connection between the port of Hamburg and the network of main roads. This essay informs about the installation and operation of a weigh-in-motion system (WIM) on the eastern part of the bridge, which is made of prestressed concrete. The necessity of installing WIM-system must be regarded in the context of the assessment of old bridges and the so-called "Nachrechnungsrichtlinie", a guideline for re-calculation the load-bearing capacity of bridges against the background of increasing traffic.
