ECONOMY AND POSSIBILITIES OF WASTE UTILIZATION IN POLAND

The concept of the sustainable development involves properly and consciously shaped relationship between economic growth, care for the environment and life quality. The aim of this concept is to ensure the ability to provide the basic needs of both the present generation and also future generations. When high use of natural resources and produced waste it became obvious to utilize the waste. The Act of 27 April 2001 on waste (OJ 2001, No. 62 item. 628) includes the obligation of waste utilization in Poland. Also the membership in European Union imposes such a requirement. In the article the need to manage of waste and the possibility of waste utilization on Polish example are presented.
