An efficient synthesis of polysubstituted thiophene derivatives is achieved via the multicomponent reaction of beta-ketodithioesters, alpha-haloketones, and cyclohexylisocyanide in aqueous medium. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
