摘要
Activated carbon fabric (ACF) maintains 100% activated carbon and with even distribution of micro-pores and high surface area, it has great dynamic adsorption capacity and adsorption rate. To charge the nonwoven polypropylene to make it an electret, we provided as much charge as possible to the electret filtering medium. A discharging electrode directly charged the nonwoven fabric at a controlled temperature. A complete electret process includes material preparation, temperature and time control. The nonwoven electret and ACF were laminated together and the resulting composite was lighter more efficient, more convenient to use and required less space. We demonstrated the relationship between the surface voltage and several variables. The comparisons of solvent adsorption performance are also discussed.
