Robust Optoelectronic Properties of PANI-Y2O3 Nanocomposite as Electron Transport Layer in OLEDs

Polyaniline-Yttrium Oxide (PANI-Y2O3) nanocomposites were synthesized via chemically oxidative polymerization process. The formation of PANI, and PANI-Y2O3 nanocomposites with their corresponding changes in nanostructured properties were examined by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), X-ray Diffraction Spectroscopy (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FUR). The UV-Vis analysis exhibited PANI- Y2O3 nanocomposite possess lower band gap and higher absorption intensity than pristine PANI. The PL spectra of PANI and PANI-Y2O3 nanocomposite reveals four bands as violet, blue, green and orange bands due to non-radiative recombination of electron-hole pair. The electrical properties for PANI-Y2O3 nanocomposite showed 78 % enhancement in current density. The PANI- Y2O3 nanocomposite exhibited enhanced carrier density and excellent rate of electron-hole recombination that proposed to he suitable candidate for electron transport layer in OLED devices.
