Fabrication and measurement of modified spiral-patch antenna for use as a triple-band (2.4GHz/5GHz) antenna

摘要
This paper describes the design, fabrication, and measurement of a modified spiral-patch antenna with a shorting pill. The prototype consists of a modified spiral model and was made using the shorting-pin method. The prototype of the proposed antenna was designed to achieve triple-hand operation at the 2.4- and 5-GHz bands. To obtain a sufficient bandwidth. a foam layer was inserted between the ground plane and the substrate. This is a microstrip antenna for IEEE 802.11 a/b WLAN application. The simulated and measured results for the impedance bandwidth, radiation pattern, and gain are presented and discussed herein. (c) 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
