Indonesian nutrition research papers 1979-2000: A bibliometric analysis

This study is an analysis of research papers authored by Indonesian authors that focus on nutrition problems in Indonesia published during the period 1979-2000. The source of data for this study are papers, published both in Indonesian and international scientific publications. This paper discusses the topics of the papers, authorship and institutional affiliation, within the framework of author collaboration, institutions, and the half-life of the literature on nutrition. The results show that the topics being discussed in 'domestic' publications differ from those in 'international' publications. However, using the appropriate statistical analysis it was found that such differences were not justified at the confidence level of p > 0.50. There were differences in the level of the author collaboration between the Indonesian and the international publications that were confirmed statistically. It was found that the half-life of the nutrition literature covered in this study to be 11.1 years. It is hoped that these initial results will open new dimensions in bibliometric study in Indonesia.
