摘要
FACTS controllers at recent times have become popular in power industry and have been employed to control the power flow and enhance stability in the power transmission system. In large power system the transient stability is of prime concern. This paper provides a better solution for transient stability. In this work the extended voltage phasor approach (EVPA) is made use of for the placement of FACTS controllers. Stability of the system (WSCC-9 BUS) is analyzed employing models of SVC and TCSC for simplified evaluation of control loop stability and response time considering various faults in the system. Dynamics of the system under transient conditions without and with FACTS controllers are compared and observed considerable improvement in the latter case.
