Optimization problems in data processing and interpretation

The problem of automating scientific measuring experiment concerns the necessity of obtaining stable solutions to numerous problems of data processing, interpretation, identification, and simulation. In most cases, it reduces to finding solutions to ill-posed inverse problems with deterministic or stochastic disturbances. A wide class of optimization problems related to the minimization of residuals for various choices of functionals and approximation norms is considered.
