摘要
This Paper presents the analytical study of different configurations in integrating the energy storage system with wind turbines. The purpose of this study is to design a storage system that is capable to bring out a sustainable energy system which is reliable and is controllable such that they can be integrated into power system without causing performance degradation of the system or requiring additional flexibility. As an initiative this research, study and analyze the concepts of lead acid battery energy storage system (BESS) and establish a compressed air energy storage (CAES) facility, with a specific focus on renewable integration. The system is designed in a specific way to capture excess power prior to electricity generation so that the electrical components can be downsized for demand instead of supply. The study quantifies and demonstrate, the hybrid energy storage system. It integrates battery storage to have the capability of fast charging / discharging while compressed air energy storage as tool to reduce the intermittency in the power delivery. The research facilitated the study of integration of several renewable energy source and have a better understanding of the effectiveness of energy storage system (ESS) to support grid applications. Also, the study of concatenation of multiple energy storage system and their benefits in bringing up the steady power supply eliminating the intermittency in the power generation.
