Whistler Wave Radiation from a Loop Antenna Located in an Enhanced Density Duct in a Nonresonant Magnetoplasma

摘要
Electromagnetic radiation from a loop antenna located in a cylindrical duct with enhanced plasma density and operated in the nonresonant part of the whistler frequency range is considered. The distribution of the radiated power over the spatial spectrum of the excited waves is analyzed as a function of the source parameters. Conditions are found under which the most of the power radiated from the loop antenna goes to the eigenmodes of the duct. It is shown that a notable increase in the radiated power can occur even in the case where the duct supports the guided propagation only of a single lower-order eigenmode.
