Synthesis and pharmacological screening of some substituted benzothiazole derivatives of thioquinazolinone

摘要：
Various substituted 2-amino-N-(2-benzothiazolyl) benzamides (IIIa-n) and 2-thio-3-(2-benzothiazolyl-4-(3H)-quinazolines (IVa-n) containing different functional groups have been synthesized by condensing substituted anthranilic acids (I) with substituted 2-aminobenzothiazoles (II) in dry pyridine. The identity of compounds III and IV were confirmed on the basis of their spectral (UV, IR, and H-1 NMR) data. Further, they have been screened for their anticonvulsant activity.
