Communication applications of PPLN based all-optical wavelength converters: Advantages and challenges

摘要
All-optical wavelength converters based on PPLN are briefly reviewed. Advantages and challenges of the wavelength converters are addressed. Potential applications of the devices in the future optical communication networks are discussed. Recent progresses in developing the devices are introduced.
