Accelerated Simulation of a High-Fidelity DC-DC Buck-Boost Converter Using Model Order Reduction

摘要
In this paper, we present a framework for acceleration of simulation speeds of high-fidelity power electronic converters using Model Order Reduction (MOR). Due to the wide span of the eigenvalues, the simulation of these circuits is extremely slow. This problem is mitigated by implementing the proposed framework. The idea is to approximate the dynamics of the original stiff system with a reduced order system by taking into account the dominant modes of the system only. The proposed method is demonstrated on a high-fidelity DC-DC buck-boost converter. Significant improvements in simulation speed and reduction in the size of the solution array are achieved.
