摘要
This study investigates the topics of four sets of college English coursebooks which are widely used in Chinese universities. The estimation of topics in coursebooks depends on the determination of the relationship between the frequency of two keywords in two corpuses and the sizes of two corpuses. A mathematical estimator for keyness is adopted. It is hoped that the results examined in this study would be of some help for both teachers in teaching practice and administrators in revising existing coursebooks.
